For appliances that do not incorporate wheels or other means of movement, other than lifting, cylinder retention is not required. Product markings and instructions shall include a pictorial representation of the manufacturer’s recommended appliance and cylinder placement. (See 1 .20.2-bi 1 and 1 .21.4) A minimum warning level statement advising the customer of the hazard of tripping over the hose and tipping of the supply cylinder shall also be included. The hose connecting the appliance to the supplier’s cylinder shall be of such a length that the cylinder, when positioned in accordance with the manufacturers recommendation will fall to the ground without striking the appliance on the downward fall or pulling the appliance sufficiently to cause spillage of liquid from the cooking vessel, when the cylinder is tipped in any direction, in accordance with the method of test. (See 2.20.6.)
1.6.3
An appliance for connection to a self-contained IP-gas supply system shall be equipped with a pressure regulator. The regulator shall comply with the Standard for Pressure Regulating Valves for LP Gas, UL 144, as a part of the self-contained LP-gas supply system.
Exception: Appliances designed for use with a combination regulotor valve with a CGA No. 600 connection and outlet pressure less than 1 psi (7.0 kPa), intended for use with an LP-gas supply cylinder with a nominal water capacity less than 2.2 lb (1.00 kg), need not comply with the above requirements, but shall comply with the requirements of 1.2.23 and 2.13, Combination Regulator Valve — Low Pressure.
Regulators which incorporate a manual valve and burner control functions shall incorporate a marked “OFF” position and clearly and unmistakably indicate direction of rotation to close. Those devices which have a fixed light position shall be marked to indicate that position referenced in the manufacturer’s lighting instructions. The shutoff valve shall not be installed after the regulator valve outlet.
The regulator shall be installed in such a location that it will not attain a temperature above 1 30F
(54.5°C).
The inlet of the pressure regulator for connection to a self-contained propane system shall be fitted for attachment to one of the following:
a. A CGA No. 791 Cylinder Connection Device and complying with the Standard for Cylinder Connection Devices, ANSI 121.81 • CSA 6.25; or the Standard for Adapters and Cylinder ConnectiQn Devices for Portable LP-Gas Cylinder Assemblies, UL 2061; or
b. A CGA No. 810 Cylinder Connection Device, and complying with the Standard for Cylinder Connection Devices, ANSI Z21.81 • CSA 6.25; or the Standard for Adapters and Cylinder Connection Devices for Portable LP-Gas Cylinder Assemblies, UL 2061; or.CSA 1.18-2007 pdf free download.
