aging cycle; A measure of the time spent at a target temperature for the purpose of accelerated aging of insulation.
chemical compatibility test (CCT): Sealed tube test procedure. as defined in ASTM D5642, which is designed to evaluate the chemical compatibility of all components of an insulation system.
cold e%posure: Test specimens are exposed to cold temperatures once per aging cycle as part o[the diagnostic procedures used to evaluate the thermal capability of the tested insulation system.
correlation coefficient (R2): A measure of how well a predictive model fits the aging data from a thermal evaluation experiment.
electrical stress path: Dielectric failure paths in the representative small-scale model coils representing turn- to-turn, layer-to-layer, disk-to-disk, section-to-section. winding-to-winding, and winding-to-ground.
enhanced sealed tut)c (EST) evaluation: A sealed tube test procedure that is conducted under enhanced conditions (higher temperature, longer time) and with more detailed evaluations versus the chemical compatibility test (CCT) procedure.
full-size transformer coils: Full-sizc transformer coils capable of meeting the requirements of’ IEEE Std C57.12.Ol and passing testing per IEEE Std C57.12.91, which are selected for use as test objects in this procedure.
