19.2 After 30 minutes, the current sensor shall be removed from the tank, the excess water removed from the surface of the case, and the Dielectric Voltage Withstand Test, Section j4. shall be conducted. After the test, the sensor case shall be opened and a visual inspection made,
19.3 The current sensor shall comply with the requirements of the Dielectric Voltage Withstand Test, Section 14. and the visual inspection confirms no water has entered an area of the case that has exposed live parts that are not covered by water resistant insulation or at least 0.8 mm (0.03 in) of potting material that complies with J,Q.
20 Outdoor Use Cold Impact Test
20.1 All enclosed-type current sensors shall be subjected to the test described in this Section.
20.2 Three representative specimens of each current sensor series rated for cold ambient use shall be cooled to the manufacturer’s defined low ambient rating, i2.0’C (3.6F). Enclosed-type current sensors shall be cooled to the above, or minus 35.0 ±2,0 C (-31 ±3.6’ F), whichever is colder. Sensor5 shall be maintained at this temperature for at least 3 hours.
20.3 While the unit is still cold, each specimen shall be subjected to the impact of 6.8 J (5 foot-pounds). produced by dropping a steel sphere 50.8 mm (2 in) in diameter and weighing 0.54 kg (1.18 lbs) from a height of 1.3 m (51 in). or by swinging the steel sphere as a pendulum from a height of 1.3 m (51 in).
20.4 Compliance is visually determined. There shall be no damage that would allow access to live parts, that reduce required spacings. or for enclosed-type current sensors, would allow the ingress of water to live parts.
