IDV.1 DR Modification by replacing the second paragraph of Clause I as follows:
This part of IEC 60335 deals with the safety of electric heat pumps, including hot water heat pumps, air conditioners, dehumidiflers, and hydronic fan coils units, their maximum rated voltages being not more than 300 V for single phase appliances and 15 000 V for all other appliances. Partial units are within the scope of this International Standard.

This standard does not take into account refrigerants other than refrigerant safety groups as defined by ISO 817 orASHRAE 34 as follows:
a) Al; and
b) BI (for use in appliances installed in machinery rooms as defined in accordance with ANSIIASHRAE 15 (USA) or CSA B52 (Canada), or outdoors only); and
c) A21, A2, and A3, refrigerants with a molar mass not less than 42 kglkmol based on nominal composition.
