826 M.O.T. 5.9.1 – 85 HEAT RESISTANCE
826.1 SCOPE.
This test applies to all appliances.
826.2 METhOD
The appliance is operated continuously for 100 cycles of 2 h on and I h off at overload gas consumption and then checked for any deterioration.
826.3 APPARATUS
I Equipment as set out in Clause 3.2.6.
2 Suitable timing device.
826.4 MATERIALS
Supply of appropriate test gas (see Clause 3.1.2) at a pressure to give overload gas consumption.
826.5 PREPARATION OF APPARATUS
I Install the appliance as set out in Clause 3.2.
2 Examine the appliance and ensure that it does not ha’e any structural. mechanical or operational defects.
826.6 PROCEDURE
I Light burner and adjust to overload gas consuniption within 2 mm from cold condition.
2 Operate for 100 cycles of 2 h on and I h off. Any thermostats shall bc set at maximum.
3 Turn off gas.
4 Disconnect and examine the appliance.

The appliance complies with this requirement provided:
(a) Doors and other movable fittings function correctly.
(b) Outer surface finishes of the appliance have not deteriorated.
(C) Controls, thermostats etc. do not leak, seize or fail.
(d) The appliance does not slio signs of deterioration (superficial discolouration shall be ignored).
(e) Burners hae not distorted or deteriorated sufficiently to affect normal operation.
(f) Motors and fans have not deteriorated.
(g) Wiring insulation has not scorched or melted.

B27.l SCOPE
[his test applies to all appliance burners in which a lit back condition can be established.
827.2 METHOD
Each burner is tested to establish if it can be operated in the lit hack condition.
If a lit back condition can be established, the burner is allowed to operate in this condition for I h at the maximum gas rate at which the lit back condition can be maintained.
827.3 APPARATUS
I Equipment as specified in Clause 3.2.6.
