Pressure sensitive adhesive plastic label stock is available in a variety of tpes. The suitability for a particular application depends on the component materials and the conditions to which it may be subjected iii service.
A knowledge of the specific application performance requirements which may include the type of substrate, application, temperature and method, and subsequent storage and usage environment will assist the label stock manufacturer in supplying the product for these specific applications. By determining the correct type, wastage and possible damage will he avoided.
The label stock converter should conduct appropriate evaluations to ensure label stock is suitable for intended use.
A3 INFORMATION TO BE SUPPLIEL) BY THE LABEL STOCK CON VERTER
The label stock converter should specify details on the following items at the time of enquiry or order after making due reference to the detailed explanations. advice and recommendations contained in this Appendix:
(a) Type of product. e.g. facestock, adhesive, release liner.
(b) Quantity and delivery instructions.
(c) Intended use and application conditions of label stock and labels.
(d) The adhesive performance (Clause 1.4).
(c) Grarninage and thickness of the release liner (Clause 1.5.3).
(f) The ibrm of label stock (Clause 1 .5.4).
(g) Details of slitting (Clause 1.5.4.2).
